Mike Borba and Josh Borba of MLS Reverse Mortgage were recently contributing authors to the book 62 Senior Moments. This project, spear-headed by Sam Collins, includes true inspirational stories about seniors 62 and older whose lives were changed for the better because of a reverse mortgage. Two chapters in the book come from MLS Reverse Mortgage. Below are excerpts from our chapters. Please enjoy.
One day after returning to the office from an appointment, there was a message on my desk to call Mrs. Lumpkin. Apparently, she called our office and requested information about reverse mortgage products. It was my job to follow up with her to answer any questions she had. My initial telephone conversation was extremely strange. When I asked to speak with Mr. or Mrs. Lumpkin, the woman that answered said they no longer lived there. ...Charlie had made up his mind to learn whatever he could about how a reverse mortgage could help them fulfill their dreams. Sadly, Charlie passed away before the research was complete. Heartbroken, Kitty felt as though she lost her best friend and traveling the world just didn't seem appealing anymore.
For months, time stood still for Kitty. Going through the motions of everyday activities took up so much energy. Everyone offered to help her but she did not want help - she wanted her husband.
